2010: The Festival Shifts to Heritage Square
In 2010, the Lummis Day Festival moved its main staqes to a new site—Heritage Square Museum—where they would remain for the following five years. The poetry readings, art exhibits and crafts tables remained at Lummis Home.
Performers at Heritage Square included the Susie Hansen Latin Band, Ruben Martinez and the Border Balladeers, the 24-piece Highland Park-based music collective, Killsonic, ska-reggae-hip-hop band Upground, and the Elliott Caine Quintet.
The poetry readings at Lummis Home featured Mariano Zaro, Cece Peri, John Brantingham and Suzanne Lummis. Evangina, consisting of Evangenitals vocalists Juli Crockett and Lisa Dee, performed an opening musical set.
